Stress, worry, and tension are becoming commonplace, and most of us are so accustomed to being stressed, worried, and tense that we don't even notice when we're on edge.
Because we are not accustomed to being calm and relaxed, it is critical to learn how to become unusually calm, chilled out, and not let things get under your skin.

Everyone feels "off," uptight, and uneasy when they are high-strung, anxious, nervous, and fidgety. However, remaining calm, cool, and collected makes you more approachable and likable. Calm people prefer to associate with other calm people. They don't associate with shady, nervous, and anxious drama queens.

Waiting until the last minute adds unnecessary stress to your life. To keep your calm and peace of mind, do it now, calmly, rather than waiting until the last minute and letting it freak you out.
Procrastinators are constantly on edge, rushing, nervous, high-strung, and unable to remain calm. Those who are always calm understand that procrastination kills their mood. So they get it as soon as possible before it becomes a bigger problem.
7. Try Not To Stoop
When someone is freaking out, acting childish, immature, irresponsible, and completely ridiculous, it is a waste of time and energy to fight with them. Simply give them a blank stare until they're finished.
Don't react and let their behavior affect you. Don't yell back. Avoid returning the slurs. DO NOTHING.
Maintain your calm, cool, collected, and composed personality. The more you freak out, the more they freak out.
Always expect others to rise to your level and never react or respond when someone behaves in an unacceptable manner.
8. Get Your Priorities and Life In Order
Having your priorities and life in order is similar to performing preventive maintenance on your car – you are keeping yourself safe and avoiding catastrophe. You are performing preventive maintenance on your mind by allowing yourself to remain calm and relaxed.
Instead of worrying about losing your job and not being able to pay your bills because you keep arriving late to work, you're taking charge, planning ahead, and dealing with it before it becomes a problem.
Being an adult is another term for it. You are calmer and less stressed when you have your act together and are disciplined. You've put in the time and effort to ensure that everything goes as planned, and as a result, you're less stressed and worried than the average person.
Make a list of your priorities and follow through on them. Write down where you're slacking and redirect the time and energy you're wasting on things that don't matter, like social media and watching TV, to things that do.

It's more difficult to let go and let things happen when you're tense, nervous, high-strung, and suspicious.

Brad Pitt is telling Edward Norton to "stop trying to control everything and just let go!" as he panics and grabs the steering wheel. Brad Pitt is attempting to teach him that bad things will happen in life and that it is important to just accept them. He's attempting to assist him in becoming less tense.
Stop being such a control freak in your life. Go with the flow of events and see where they lead you.
11. Do Everything Slower – Walking, Talking, Breathing, And Moving
Slow down your movements to increase your sense of calm. Slowing down the body causes the mind to slow down.
Even getting in the slow lane and driving slower allows you to relax, chill out, and calm down, whereas driving in the fast lane reduces your ability to relax.
Your mind will follow you as you walk, talk, breathe, and move more slowly. Yoga forces you to slow down and be still, which is why so many people swear by it to keep them calm, cool, collected, and relaxed.
Moving slower also conveys a greater sense of power, control, composure, and calm, making you more attractive.
12. Don’t Be in a Rush
The desire to complete tasks as quickly as possible detracts from your calm and relaxed state of mind. Because life is short and we want to accomplish a lot, urgency is important when it comes to goals, but it is not the same as rushing.

Many of us have a lot to do, but we waste time doing things that aren't necessary and then rush to catch up. The more time we waste, the further we fall behind, and the more we stress and rush, creating an endless cycle.
13. Stop Reacting to Stress
Life is stressful, and you are allowing it to prevent you from remaining calm, cool, and collected.
Everything you are and have is the result of some kind of stressful problem. The desire to eat is a stressful issue. The lack of adequate shelter is a stressful issue.
EVERYTHING comes with a degree of stress, and it is wise to accept stress rather than reacting to it and fighting it. Reacting does not change or improve the situation. The only thing that reacting to stress does is increase your stress and make you appear tense, and unbalanced.
Instead of reacting and losing your cool when stressed, remember that stress is a natural part of life and that reacting to it is essentially a waste of time.

When emotions arise and the desire to worry and stress arises, take the time to relax and remain calm.

15. Remain Grateful
When you're unhappy with your current situation, where you're at, and what you're getting out of life, it's easy for negative feelings to cause anxiety and stress. Instead of worrying about what you don't have, where you aren't in your life, or what you aren't getting right now, make a conscious decision to express gratitude and be content with where you are right now.
- You may not have the big house you want, but at least you have a place to live.
- The big truck or fancy car you want may not be in the garage yet, but at least you have a way to get around.
- Your job may not be perfect, but at least you have one.
- The money may be tight and you can’t go on a vacation, but at least you have money to pay your bills.
- You may not be happy with the shape you’re in, but at least you have your arms, legs, fingers, and toes and you can improve your appearance.
You may not have everything you desire right now, but you do have everything you require. There is ALWAYS something for which to be thankful. Don't berate yourself or worry about where your life is going or what you don't have.
Be content with where you are, even if you want to go bigger and better. Every step of the way, take a look around and say to yourself, "I'm happy with this because I know it could be worse."
